What A Day for the Foundation
Thank You to our wonderful supporters of the 15th Annual Texas Med Run, held on a beautiful Saturday morning, February 11, 2017. Over 1,000 competitive runners, sponsors, donors, teams, families, friends, Harris Health employees, and volunteers gathered to mark another incredible year by participating in the 10K/5K Runs, 5K Walk, 1K Super Hero Kids Run, Kids Zone and Expo. The US Track & Field sanctioned and certified event raised the highest dollars yet of $150,000 for Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital Level I Trauma Center. Participation numbers in the timed races also doubled this year, thanks to you.
The Harris Health benefiting program, Ben Taub Hospital Level I Trauma Center, is one of only two American College of Surgeon (ACS) designated Level I trauma centers in Harris County. Community support is vital to continue Ben Taub Hospital’s international reputation for excellence, and through partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, provides and educates some of the best emergency medicine doctors and trauma surgeons in the nation. As a regional trauma care provider, Ben Taub Trauma Center serves as a primary site for mass emergencies arising from bioterrorism, chemical and nuclear incidents, and natural/weather related incidents.
